Meet the Counselors
Allie Chartrand
I am so fortunate to be working as a school counselor here at Varnum Brook Elementary! I have been working as the school counselor at Varnum Brook Elementary since September 2015. Previously I worked as a school counselor at Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond, NH. Varnum Brook is such a wonderful place to be! I have a M.S. in Counseling from Fitchburg State University and a BA in Psychology. I have completed practicum hours in several schools throughout Massachusetts. As a former North Middlesex graduate, I am very happy to be working to support our youth in my own community.
I am a mom of 3 boys ages 11, 7, and 5. I love to spend my free time with my family. We enjoy reading, going to the beach, and swimming. You can typically find me in a hockey rink or on the soccer fields during the weekends watching my children play. We love to spend time with friends and extended family.
My favorite part of being a school counselor is working directly with the students. I love to see the way in which students grow and mature throughout the year at school. I love to spend time visiting classrooms and providing social skills lessons to all students. Having a strong foundation built through social learning helps students to be even more successful both in and out of the classroom!

I have enjoyed joining the VBES team and working within a school directly with students! I have a Masters in Social Work from Salem State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Fitchburg State University.
